An 0-4-0 well tank, the short stature of Dundee Gas Works No. 2 is due to its having to work under the retorts in the gasworks. It was built in Stoke on Trent by Kerr, Stuart & Co. Ltd in 1902 (works no. 721), and was presented to the museum in 1959.
