Steampipes, the annual railway film and organ recital show, organised by the London Area Groups of the Ffestiniog, Talyllyn and Welshpool & Llanfair Railways will take place this year on Wednesday 7th December, starting at 7 PM. The venue, as for the last couple of years is The Friends Meeting House, 173 Euston Road, London NW1, which is right opposite Euston station. The compere will again be Rob Foxon with Len Rawle as the organist.

The films this year include:

  • Steam on The Steyr, an Austrian Narrow Gauge film (by John Smallwood)
  • London in the 1920s
  • Euston Station taken in 1955, complete with the Doric Arch
  • British Locomotives, a 1960 film by the Locomotive Manufacturers Association
  • Locomotives for the Second Front. A 1944 film showing loco construction for the Allied Liberation of Europe

Plus the usual cartoon, comedy and the odd surprise.

Ticket prices remain the same as last year, £8 for Adults and £4 for under 16s, with a limited number of sideways facing seats priced at £6 each. They can be obtained from Gordon Brown, 2 Millard Way, Hitchin, Herts. SG4 0QE. Cheques should be payable to Talyllyn Railway Preservation Society and please enclose a stamped self-addressed envelope for return of your tickets.
