Admin login | Printable version The Talyllyn Railway is holding a New Volunteers weekend on September 20th and 21st 2008. A full programme has been arranged beginning at Wharf Station at 9.45am. Volunteers from the various departments will briefly explain what they do on the T.R. on the Saturday morning and, after an early lunch; there will be a special training train. In the evening there will be a short presentation on the history of the T.R., a short DVD made by one of our young members about volunteering out of season, and an opportunity for the participants to ask any questions about any aspect of volunteering. On the Sunday morning we will attempt to roster the new volunteers on the duties they have expressed an interest in. After lunch, there will be a short final session before people go home. There is a minimum age of 14 and an upper age of 70 for most jobs. If you are interested in attending, please write to Wharf Station, Tywyn, Gwynedd LL36 9EY marking your envelope ‘New Volunteers Weekend’. Alternatively e-mail the T.R. at trainingassistant@talyllyn.co.uk Whilst we do not specifically recommend any particular accommodation, a list of places at which to stay in the Tywyn area can be provided on request. Why not come and find out what volunteering on the T.R. is all about? It could be a life-changing experience for you! |
